Meeting and Pickup
MEETING POINT: Makrigianni 7, Athina. 117 42 (close to the Acropolis Museum) Your guide will have a sign with the name of the lead traveler written. If choosing the 'CITY TOUR LUXURY VEHICLE' option, return transfers are included from your cruise ship or central Athens address.
End Point
If selecting the Acropolis only option, your tour may end in the Acropolis so you can enjoy the views. If selecting the Acropolis & Museum Option, your tour may end in the Museum. If selecting the option including the Ancient Agora, your tour will end there.

Itinerary
1. Our Private tour takes 3-Hours which is roughly split into 80 Minutes at the Acropolis and associated Temples, Theaters and buildings, and 80 Minutes at the Acropolis Museum. MEETING OUR GUIDE. Your guide will be waiting at the 'Acropoli' Metro Station at street level which is located at 7 Makrygianni Street, and close to the Acropolis Museum Our meeting spot provides an ideal perspective from which to view the surrounding wall of the Acropolis built by the earlier Mycenean Civilization and to provide you with an introduction to the History of the Acropolis, its importance and role in the life of ancient Greece, and an overview of the temples & amazing monuments you are about to see. If choosing the 'CITY TOUR LUXURY VEHICLE' option, return transfers are included so we will be at your Hotel or Cruise ship terminal to meet you.
2. TOURING THE ACROPOLIS and PARTHENON. Usually, you will continue first with a visit to the Acropolis lasting approximately 80 minutes during which time you will see all of the Temples, Theaters, and associated buildings such as the monumental gateway (Propylaea), Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheum, and of course the Parthenon.
3. Still in a good state of preservation, one of our first stops is the Ancient THEATER OF DIONYSUS. Built in the 4th & 5th century BC in a natural amphitheater o nthe slopes of the Acropolis it would have had an impressive capacity of 25000, it is considered the world's oldest. Amazing to think that many of the most famous Ancient Greek plays would have had their original premieres here!
4. Ascend towards the monumental gateway (Propylaia) and entrance to the Acropolis. As the Temples of the Acropolis come into view, the Ancient Greeks would have been greeted by an enormous decorated Bronze Statue of the Goddess Athena. As legend has it, the tip of her upheld spear could be seen by incoming ships in the sunlight.
5. Built around 420 BC, and one of the earliest temples of the Acropolis, this Classical Ionic Temple was dedicated to the Goddess Athena and is largely restored, with a prominent position overlooking the City.
6. The pinnacle of the 'Golden-Age' of Classical Greece, this temple was an unrivaled mastepiece of Art, Architecture and Engineering as well as the heart of Ancient Greek ceremony and worship in Athens. We Take time at this most important temple with an overview of its construction, mythology and Historical importance.
7. The second largest temple of the Acropolis, the Erechtheion was Dedicated to both Zeus and the Goddess Athens and your guide will illuminate some of its wonderful Mythology and main aspects such as its impressive statues that you will now see in the Museum.
8. Built in AD 161 by Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife, this stunning Marble amphitheater continues as a working theater to the present day.
9. TOURING THE NEW ACROPOLIS MUSEUM (approximately 80 minutes) A short distance from the Acropolis you will see many of its original masterpieces along with models, videos & interactive installations housed in this state-of-the-art museum. Your guide will illuminate the most impressive & significant pieces along with the stories of myth & legend behind them. The tour's combination of the Acropolis and Museum form a perfect pairing in the understanding of the core of the 'Golden age' of Classical Greece. ENDING YOUR TOUR. Your guide will return you to the meeting point or choose to stay, enjoying the sights of the City!
10. ACROPOLIS ONLY OPTION(2-hrs): If selecting this tour option during booking we recommend selecting a time after lunch for a crowd-free experience as well as enjoying the 'Golden Light' and the best time to view the honey-colored hues of the temple's ancient Architecture and surrounding city views.
11. CITY TOUR LUXURY VEHICLE OPTION (5-hrs tour by vehicle): If selecting this tour option during booking you will be picked up from your Cruise Ship, Central Athens Hotel, or other Address. 5-HOUR PRIVATE TOUR BY VEHICLE: ACROPOLIS - ACROPOLIS MUSEUM - TEMPLE OF ZEUS - HADRIANS ARCH - OLYMPIC STADIUM - ATHENS TRILOGY - SYNTAGMA SQUARE & GUARDS. A Professional Licensed Guide will accompany you at the Acropolis & Acropolis Museum.
12. ACROPOLIS & ANCIENT AGORA OPTION (3-hr): If selecting this tour option, both the Acropolis and Ancient Greek Agora with its depth of history will be brought to life by your private Guide.
