Itinerary

1. Paarl
We’re about 70 kilometers out of Cape Town now, heading into Paarl, one of the oldest wine regions in South Africa. This town has been making wine for centuries, and you’ll notice the vineyards stretching across the valley. But what really catches the eye is Paarl Rock, that huge granite dome rising above the landscape. It’s actually one of the biggest single rock formations in the world, second only to Uluru in Australia. As we drive past, take in the mix of history, wine, and scenery, it’s a real gem of the Cape Winelands
2. Huguenot Tunnel
We will drive through the Huguenot Tunnel about nearly 4 kilometers long. it was built by Italian engineers to make travel easier than the old Du Toitskloof Pass. Once we’re through, the road opens into a valley framed by two mountain ranges. The sharp ridges and dramatic peaks here are a perfect example of the African landscape rugged, striking, and unforgettable. It’s one of those drives where the scenery really steals the show.
3. Worcester
We will drive pass Worceste, one of the Western Cape’s most historic wine valleys, a place that has been producing some of South Africa’s finest wines for generations. What makes this area so special is the Breede River, flowing through the valley and fed by smaller streams and the melting winter snow from the surrounding mountains. It’s this natural water source that gives life to the vineyards and orchards you see around us. The combination of rich history, fertile land, and breathtaking scenery makes this drive something truly memorable.
4. Aquila Private Game Reserve Head Office
ust two hours from Cape Town, we arrive at Aquila — a 4,500‑hectare game reserve that’s home to Africa’s Big Five. On arrival, guests are welcomed with a refreshing drink before enjoying a generous buffet breakfast. Then it’s time for the highlight: a safari in open 4x4 vehicles, lasting up to three hours, as we set out in search of lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and leopards. After the adventure, a delicious buffet lunch is served back at the lodge. In summer, you can cool off in the swimming pool, while in winter, guests gather around a warm bonfire by the poolside before heading back to Cape Town. It’s a full day of wildlife, comfort, and unforgettable memories
