Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is the most famous and oldest floating market in Thailand. There are have many iconic from Ayutthaya historic but the most iconic image of Wat Mahathat is the Buddha’s head entwined in the roots of a banyan tree. Believed to have originated from a sandstone Buddha image that fell to the ground after the temple’s destruction, the roots gradually grew around it, creating one of the most photographed and mysterious symbols of Ayutthaya.
