Quick stop at NZs favorite urban beach, with a quick walk up to one of the largest NZ Kauri trees in Auckland

2. Wenderholm Regional Park
Incredible vistas of the Puhoi estuary and out over the island studded Hauraki Guld, spend a bit of energy and walk up to an ancient Māori Pa site, and in summer enjoy a serene 20minute float on the river current

3. Mahurangi Regional Park
Take in all the scenic photo spots available of the hidden and majestic Mahurangi Harbour, see my cover photo, stops at Mahurangi West and Scotts Landing

4. Honey Centre Warkworth
Manuka Honey has made NZ honey world famous for its healing properties, with plenty produced here, but also try 20+ other flavors of native honey, and check the inside of a huge bees nest

11. Muriwai Gannet Colony
At the end on the 50km long black sand Muriwai beach (we can drive along it if you want something different) the Muriwai Gannet colony is the largest such mainland colony in the southern hemisphere. Does change depending on the breeding cycle, but always birds around

A range of premier NZ wine tasing options, up to 6 to choose from. Taste NZs specialties Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, and a few local treats

14. The Puhoi Pub Hotel & Stables...Est 1879
One of the oldest continuously serving pubs in NZ, developed by the local Bohemian immigrants, so check out the locally brewed Bohemian Pilsner. Set in a stunning bush clad valley of the Puhoi River
