This Historical Walking and Tasting Tour will take you on a journey in Quebec City's fascinating history along with a seasoned licensed guide. You'll discover some of the hidden treasures while enjoying local-flavored tastings and products, either along the way or after the tour. 1. Discover the period character who will guide you through the flavors of Quebec's terroir on this tour and learn about how his story in New-France began.
2. Follow your guide and learn about the history of the Hébert family in New-France.
3. Enter the courtyard of the Old Seminary and get back to the 17th century with your guide.
4. Following the founding of the parish of Notre-Dame de Québec by Monseigneur de Laval, the Catholic religion was part of the settlers' way of life.
5. Enjoy your first tasting of Quebec's terroir of the tour!
6. Learn about the Institut Canadien de Québec as well as about the Maison de la littérature’s mission to showcase Québec’s literary heritage and promote all forms of current literary creation.
7. Learn about the four major periods of Quebec City history reflected by the Morrin Center. This nationally recognized heritage site bears witness to the French- and English-language communities that contributed to Quebec City’s patrimony.
8. The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity was the first Anglican cathedral to be built outside the British Isles after New-France became a British colony.
