2. Puerta de la Justicia

Standing at the entrance, admire the Horseshoe Arch and the Christian coat of arms, symbolizing the shift from Moorish rule to Spanish conquest in 1492.

3. Puerta del Vino

A beautiful horseshoe-arched gate, the Puerta del Vino once led to the royal palaces. The name may come from its role as a place where wine was once traded, although some historians suggest it refers to its decorative colors.

4. Plaza de los Aljibes

This wide esplanade sits above the Alhambra’s water reservoirs (“aljibes”), offering a fantastic panoramic view of the Albaicín and Sacromonte neighborhoods. It’s a perfect moment to take in the fusion of Islamic and Renaissance architecture.

5. Alcazaba
