2. The Castle District: Along with the Bazaar Gardens the castle is located at top of the hills of Buda and it takes a truly breath-taking landmark by night
3. Margaret Bridge – Right after the Chain Bridge the second place belongs to Margaret Bridge, which is the second permanent stone bridge of Budapest and only 20 years younger than its ancestor
4. Chain Bridge – This unique looking construction was the first, permanent stone bridge that connected the two towns Buda and Pest
5. The House of Parliament: Easily one of the most beautiful and iconic government buildings in the world
6. Emerging at the foot of Elizabeth Bridge, Gellért Hill is amongst the most visited spots of the capital, due to the amazing view
7. Liberty Bridge – Originally called Fővám Square Bridge after the place where the bridge is ending. At the Buda side, you can reach the Gellért Hill and Hotel Gellért which has one of the famous thermal baths of Budapest
8. The Budapest University of Technology and Economics is the most significant University of Technology in Hungary and is considered the world's oldest Institute of Technology which has university rank and structure. It was the first institute in Europe to train engineers at university level.
9. Petőfi Bridge – Originally built in 1933 but in WWII it was blown up by German soldiers and had to be rebuilt after the war, in 1952
10. The new National Theatre is the most distinguished venue for theatrical plays in Hungary. Although there has been a Hungarian theatre in Budapest for the last 150 years, it only has a permanent and suitable home for theatregoers since 15th March 2002.
11. Balna (a.k.a. the Whale, due to its shape) is a modern shopping, cultural, and entertainment center on the east bank of the River Danube.
12. Batthyány Square is noted for the Szent Anna-templom (Church of Saint Anne), a Roman Catholic church built by the Jesuits between 1740 and 1761, and one of Budapest's most beautiful baroque buildings. The square is also known for its market hall.
