Embark on a direct journey to the Badaling Great Wall—an approximately 1.5-hour ride that blends comfort with anticipation. Along the way, your professional guide will weave vivid, engaging stories that bring the Great Wall to vivid life: you’ll learn about its ingenious ancient construction techniques, its pivotal role in shaping Chinese history, and the profound cultural legacy it carries through the ages. Beyond the tales, the scenic drive itself will treat you to fleeting yet charming views of tranquil countryside landscapes—rolling fields, quiet villages, and lush greenery—that add a gentle, peaceful rhythm to your trip. We’ll also pass by the iconic Olympic Stadium (known as the “Bird’s Nest”) en route. If you’d like to pause for photos to capture this striking modern landmark, simply let your guide know.
2. Upon arriving at Badaling, our car will take you straight to the first parking which is very close to the cable car entrance—no wandering, no waiting. The best part? You’ll skip the long queues and board the cable car smoothly, saving time and avoiding the hassle of crowds, so your Great Wall experience starts stress-free. Badaling is one of the most famous and well-preserved Great Wall sections, with a history dating back to the Northern Qi Dynasty and major Ming Dynasty renovations. Once a key military stronghold, it now boasts iconic watchtowers and sweeping mountain views, showcasing ancient Chinese engineering at its finest. We’ll stay here for 2 hours—plenty of time to walk the wall, snap photos, and soak in this world-famous landmark, with your guide on hand to share key stories along the way.
3. After lunch at a local Chinese eatery, you’ll head to Longqing Gorge (30-minute drive). On arrival, follow your guide to the remarkable Dragon Elevator—Asia’s longest (258m long, 90m high), a Guinness-recognized engineering marvel. As you ascend its glass walls, lush peaks and valleys unfold; at the top, Longqing Gorge’s full beauty reveals itself. Hailed as a "mini Li River" and "mini Three Gorges," the gorge boasts emerald peaks, mirror-clear water, and unique geological features (cliffs, stone cones, sword-like pillars)—all pointed out by your guide. Next, cruise the lake, then disembark on Moon Island to explore its peaceful temple. For extra fun, optional paid activities await: leisurely hand-cranked boat rides or thrilling bungee jumping. You’ll spend ~2 hours at Longqing Gorge, then transfer back to your Beijing hotel with wonderful memories.
