Overview
Award-Winning Sachsenhausen Memorial Tour – A Powerful Journey Through History Sachsenhausen was the first purpose-built concentration camp, created as a centre of terror, persecution, and systematic brutality. Initially, it held those the Nazi regime considered racially, socially, or politically undesirable. Travel through the town of Oranienburg and learn how the local community was connected to the camp, in many cases, benefited from its presence. Your expert, licensed guide will lead you through key locations, including the punishment cells, infirmary, barracks, gas chamber, and crematoria, while sharing powerful stories of resilience, courage, and solidarity among prisoners in the face of unimaginable suffering. The tour also visits the Inspectorate of Concentration Camps—a seemingly ordinary building that served as the administrative centre controlling the entire Nazi camp system across Europe. A €3 per person donation supports the preservation, of the Sachsenhausen Memorial
