Berlin's Museum Island: A Self-Guided Audio Tour Discount Tickets

Overview

Berliners tore down their royal palace, rebuilt it, and filled an island with the treasures of five thousand years. Find out why on this self-guided audio walk with best-selling author Rory MacLean. Starting at the Lustgarten fountain, you’ll stroll past Berlin Cathedral and the rebuilt Berlin Palace, cross Schinkel’s Schlossbrücke to the old Prussian arsenal and Werderscher Markt, then return to Museum Island, the UNESCO World Heritage Site where kings and scholars built temples to art and science. Rory brings Frederick the Great, Kaiser Wilhelm and the Cold War to life, revealing how the Age of Enlightenment shaped Berlin and Europe. Audio plays automatically using your phone’s GPS, and the tour works offline once downloaded, so you won’t need data or Wi-Fi on the day. Go at your own pace, stop for coffee or a museum visit, and pick up again whenever you like. Download the VoiceMap app and redeem your code before you arrive. Perfect if you have an hour to spare in central Berlin.
