Cathedral Cove & Hot Water Beach Small Group Tour from Auckland Discount Tickets

Overview

Your day will begin with a pick up from your central Auckland hotel, then relax in the air-conditioned minivan for the scenic 2 hour drive through the countryside to the small Coromandel town of Tairua. We will stop to use the bathrooms and take a picture of Mt Paku - an extinct volcano. Next, take a 30 minute guided walk through the forest and along the coast to the magnificent Cathedral Cove. Spend at least 30 minutes enjoying the white sand beach, clear water, and iconic arch made famous by the Narnia films. Lunch will be from a local café at Hot Water Beach or Hahei (own expense). After lunch, spend some time dipping your toes in the unique natural hot springs at Hot Water Beach (schedule is tide dependent). Take an optional 15 minute guided hike to the summit of Mt. Paku - a small extinct volcano with amazing views of the coastline - or stop instead for ice creams (try famous NZ Real Fruit ice cream!) Drive back to Auckland for your hotel drop-off in time for dinner.
