Itinerary

1. Sacsayhuaman
Its name means “Satisfied Falcon” in Quechua. This impressive ceremonial complex is located just 2 km from Cusco. Today, it serves as the main stage for the Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun), celebrated every June 24th.
2. Q'enqo
“Qenqo” means “Labyrinth”. Located 6 km from Cusco, this archaeological site features rock-carved structures such as zigzagging channels, a ceremonial table, and a semicircular amphitheater-like construction. It is believed to have been an important Inca sanctuary used for religious rituals
3. Complejo Arqueologico Pukapukara
Its name means “Red Fortress” due to the reddish color of its stones. It served as a military structure and checkpoint for the Inca roads and access to the Cusco valley. Its walls, stairways, and terraces were part of the empire’s defensive system.
4. Tambomachay
Located 12 km from Cusco, this site is known as the “Inca Baths” due to its channels and water fountains. It is believed to have been a sacred place for the worship of water or a resting spot for the Inca elite.
