Overview

Enjoy breathtaking views on this 3.5 to 4 hour Canopy Tour that runs twice daily 9:00 am and 1:30 pm. Your guide will take you on an adventure in 4 parts: 1. A scenic drive through the private forest 2. Paddle a canoe across a wilderness lake 3. A guided walk along the Pelaw River Rapids 4. The Canopy Tour itself, among the treetops. At 10-20 metres above the ground, walk through the treetops and see beautiful views of Haliburton Forest from above. At over half a kilometre long (the longest canopy boardwalk of its kind in the world), you’ll be sure to see more spectacular views.

Check in at the Main Office (big square timber log cabin). Located at 1095 Redkenn Road, Haliburton, Ontario In some GPS units replace Haliburton with Dysart et al which is our municipality.

Redemption Instructions

Arrive 30 minutes before your tour start time. If you have booked a 1:30 pm tour booked we recommend arriving around 11:00 am should you wish to visit the Wolf Centre. Check in at the Main Office, located at 1095 Redkenn Road, Haliburton, Ontario.

Itinerary

1. Canopy Tour guests may visit the Wolf Centre on their own before or after their tour depending on the tour time. The Wolf Centre is a 5,000 square foot facility that houses exhibits of local wild life, a cinema, a gift shop, and a large indoor observatory. Visit the observatory to catch a glimpse of Haliburton Forest’s wolf pack: permanent residents of Haliburton Forest since 1993. For 9:00am tours, guests could visit the Wolf Centre after their tour. For 1:30pm tours, guests could visit the Wolf Centre before their tour.

Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health

Not recommended for pregnant travelers

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

Guests should be able to walk at a relaxed pace under their own power for a minimum of 3 hours as well as being capable of embarking and disembarking a large voyageur style canoe from a dock. Guests will be required to wear a lap harness the same as what is used for rock climbing.
