Due to its strategic position on the sea, Cefalù was exposed to attacks by pirates and looters for centuries, especially during the Middle Ages. Since the 5th century BC, the city has been protected by a solid megalithic wall, which embraced the entire Rocca, extending from one end of the gulf to the other. A "must-visit" when in Cefalù !

3. Bastione di Capo Marchiafava

The Bastione di Capo Marchiafava was built around the 17th century and marks the northern end of the city walls on the sea side of Cefalù.
