Overview

Hello! I'm Grace, your local guide and Chiba resident for over 18 years. I love the hidden charms of Chiba City and love to share them with you! We start at Chiba Shrine, a 1,000-year-old sanctuary dedicated to the divine spirit of the North Star. Next, we visit the Chiba City Museum of Art, a century-old Neo-Renaissance building featuring works by local artists. We then head to Chiba Castle (Inohana Castle). Built by the Chiba clan in the 12th century, it now houses a history museum with a panoramic city view — great for photos! We finish with a homestyle Japanese lunch at Kadoya — Tonkatsu or Chicken. I started guiding to share the meaningful experiences I've had traveling the world. Join me for an unforgettable Chiba adventure!

2. Chiba City Museum of Art
The Sayado Hall on the ground floor of the Chiba City Museum of Art was built 100 years ago as the Kawasaki Bank. It was later owned by Chiba City in 1971. It is one of the few surviving historical buildings in Chiba City and the only one with a Neo-Renaissance style. The pillars in the outer wall sections, the doors and the mosaics on the floor are distinctive features, and it is also a photographic spot for taking elegant pictures! The exhibition room on the fifth floor displays works by artists associated with Chiba City and those works can be seen here.
