Itinerary
1. Walk across this beautiful old bridge over the river to the old city center.
2. The Stokstraat used to be a street in a deprived area of Maastricht. Today it is a real gem. The street is full of nice small shops in the higher market segment and beautiful catering establishments. It's a beautiful street where everything still breathes local history!
3. “The nicest bookstore I've ever visited.” Explore the large collection of books in this fantastic location and read your purchases on the terrace next door.
4. Great Romanesque Catholic church with beautiful stained glass windows.
5. This picturesque watermill is located in the romantic Jekerkwartier. It is a great place to make pictures, right besides the wheel of this watermill.
6. It's a striking 13th century gate with a stately facade and 2 towers in a former city wall.
7. The church is believed to have been built on the grave of Saint Servatius and is considered to be the oldest surviving church in the Netherlands.
8. In the heart of the city you will find the beautiful Vrijthof. Around the Vrijthof are many historic buildings that remind us of the time when Maastricht was a religious center and a military fortress. This romantic and historic square is the largest square in Maastricht.
9. The town hall is located in the middle of the Markt in the center of Maastricht and has a rich, largely eighteenth-century interior.
10. The market square is full of cozy cafes and restaurants. It has many terraces and is near all the main shopping streets.
