Then, near the colourful fishing village of Volendam, stop at a family-run cheese farm for a live demonstration on how cheeses and clogs are made. You’ll discover how these iconic wooden shoes are crafted by hand. In Volendam, enjoy free time at the lively harbour and try local specialities like fresh herring or crispy kibbeling. Your final countryside stop is Marken a quiet, authentic destination where Dutch heritage is beautifully preserved. After returning to Amsterdam, enhance your day with an optional city canal cruise.
Meeting and Pickup
Meet your tour guide at least 15 min before the departure time, at the bus stop in De Ruijterkade 151, (by the Aloha Bowling at the riverside) the bus leaves on time with no exceptions. LOOK FOR THE BLUE UMBRELLAS with our logo "Amsterdam Guides & Tours".

NOTE: From April 13th to May 17th, visits to Marken will not be possible due to repair work on the access road. Meeting Point: Meet your tour guide at least 15 min before the departure time, at the bus stop in De Ruijterkade 151-153, (close to the Aloha Bowling in the riverside). LOOK FOR THE BLUE UMBRELLAS with our logo. Our guides will be waiting for you with a blue umbrella or a name-tag with our logo, "Amsterdam Guides & Tours" The bus departs on time, NO EXCEPTIONS, and returns to the city between 6,5h later depending on the traffic. *If you have booked the canal cruise option in the tour, the total experience finishes at 16:00 Reminder Please keep in mind, that babies need their own Maxi-Cosi The bus is not adapted for wheelchair access No pets are allowed on the bus Travelling with luggage? You may keep your luggage on the bus during this tour. Our buses are private and will keep your belongings while you enjoy the visit. IMPORTANT The visit to Marken may be substituted for safety reasons in case of bad weather conditions. Please note that this tour is designed to give you a panoramic overview of the Dutch countryside without spending the whole day away from Amsterdam. The idea is to have you back in the city in time to make the most of your afternoon—whether you need to catch a train, head to the airport, join another activity, or simply enjoy Amsterdam at your own pace. That’s why we leave early, and the total duration of the tour is 6.5 hours. It’s a fast-paced itinerary (in a good way ), created to help you see several highlights in half day.

6. Your bus tour ends at A'dam Lookout. You can either take the ferry for free to Amsterdam central station (2-minute ride) or our guide will take those who have booked the cruise to the pier where the 1-hour cruise starts.
7. After returning to Amsterdam, you have the option to complete your day with a relaxing canal cruise through the heart of the city. Glide past historic bridges, elegant town houses, and iconic landmarks as you discover why Amsterdam is often called the “Venice of the North.” This peaceful boat ride is the perfect way to unwind after your countryside adventure and experience the city from a unique and unforgettable perspective. **Only if the option is booked**
