Itinerary
1. Spot the first vineyards on the way. Not the Douro Valley, though. Have you heard about Vinho Verde, also known as Green Wine?
2. Have a look on the beauty of Amarante and its surroundings before we head up to the mountains.
3. You will witness the greatness of this mountains and will cross them by a long tunnel.
4. Have a glance on how big the Douro Valley is, by crossing some of its tributaries.
5. You will have your first impression of the Douro by crossing this bridge while our guide will drive to pick you up at the other end of the bridge.
6. Let yourself be amazed by the stunning views of this hidden gem in the heart of the Douro Valley. A medium size producer that focuses on small groups for more intimate and personal experiences, Fonseca is know for the quality of its Port wine. Here, you'll visit the granite wine tanks, where they ferment their wines, the cellar with the wooden barrels, and you'll taste quality port with river views.
7. Spot the beautiful train station of Pinhão with its typical panels of tiles painted in blue.
8. Have a look at the lovely and important for the Port Wine little village of Pinhão, with the Douro and some of the most famous Port Wine houses in the background
