2. Teatro Flavio Vespasiano
In Rieti, we will visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria and its bell tower from 1.252. It might look quite simple from the outside, but inside is beautifully ornate with original frescos. It also has a crypt of the most antique part of the church. Another gems Rieti has to offer us for admire them are the Church of San Francesco, in honor to Saint Francis of Assisi who has stayed many times in the city. The stunning Flavio Vespasiano theatre with its characteristic good acoustics; and the Church of San Rufo situated in a same name square, tradition says this is the exact geographical centre of Italy! Your driver will take you to Lago di Campotosto, an artificial lake located in Abruzzo at an elevation of 1.313 meters, pictures here will be astonishing!
