Airboats are typically covered, but their size may vary based on the season and weather. Airboats do operate outside of the official National Park area. Heavy Miami traffic may cause delays, potentially extending the tour duration. Everglades Wildlife & Conservation The Everglades is a natural habitat, not a zoo. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed and depend on climate and other factors. All animals encountered in captivity are regulated by the U.S. government (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission). These are rescued animals—saved for ethical and educational purposes—that would not survive in the wild due to injury or other reasons.
