Itinerary
1. Step into a true boulangerie de quartier, an artisanal neighborhood bakery that prides itself on organic ingredients and traditional sourdough. Here, you will taste two perfect French classics: a piece of their baguette tradition and a flaky pain au chocolat.
2. A true family-owned Montmartre institution that has been serving locals since 1889. Their specialty is seafood, and their award-winning team has even won the annual oyster shucking contest to prove it! You'll taste their expertise with a flight of four French oysters, each from a different coastal region, all perfectly paired with a crisp glass of white wine.
3. To experience a true taste of Parisian daily life, we'll visit a traditional artisan butcher shop beloved by the local community for its high-quality French meats and house-made specialties. Here, you will sample a slice of their exquisite pâté en crout, a classic of French charcuterie.
4. A charming brasserie recently revamped with a new menu designed by French "Top Chef" contestant Chloe Charles. Here, you'll experience a classic regional specialty: a hearty sausage served with their famous aligot. Be ready for a show, as this delicious mix of mashed potatoes and fresh cheese is stretched and served tableside, creating its iconic, cheesy texture right before your eyes.
5. Next, we'll visit the locals' favorite cheese shop (fromagerie) in Montmartre, a place that specializes in high-quality cheeses from small, independent producers. You'll enjoy a curated tasting of several French PDO cheeses: a mix of cow, goat, and sheep's milk, all perfectly paired with a sweet fruit jelly.
6. We'll indulge our sweet tooth at a unique artisan chocolate shop. For the past decade, they have been the only chocolatier in Paris to roast 100% of their own cocoa beans in their central city workshop. You'll taste the exceptional quality this bean-to-bar process creates with a sample of their signature chocolate and a delicious chocolate-hazelnut spread.
7. This artisanal shop specializes in liquors and jams made from rare varieties of citrus, all grown on their family farm. You'll taste the sunshine with a sample of their bright citrus jam and a delicate, house-made amaretti cookie flavored with almond and citrus zest.
8. Explore the historic Le Bateau Lavoir, a legendary hub of the Belle Époque art scene. Once home to Picasso, Modigliani, and other avant-garde artists, this modest building played a key role in modern art history.
9. Admire La Maison Rose, a picturesque pink house and a favorite haunt for artists, which witnessed the tragic love story that inspired Picasso's Blue Period.
10. Uncover the hidden vineyard of Clos Montmartre, one of the last in central Paris, offering a glimpse into the area's long history of viticulture and the celebrated Harvest Festival.
11. Step into Le Lapin Agile, an iconic cabaret dating back to the 1850s, once a vibrant meeting spot for struggling artists like Picasso, Modigliani, and Utrillo.
