1. Porta Nigra
The Porta Nigra in Trier – the city also known as 'Rome on the Moselle' – is one of the most famous Roman structures in Europe.
2. Dreikonigenhaus (House of the three Magi)
The Dreikönigenhaus is from the Middle Ages. It is almost 800 years old. A very rich family built it for themselves.
3. Hauptmarkt
Absolutely worth seeing and the starting point for exploring the old town is the market square in Trier.
4. Trier Saint Peter's Cathedral
Trier Cathedral is the cathedral of Trier and the oldest episcopal church in Germany. In its core, it goes back to a Roman basilica that was built from 326 by the Roman emperor Constantine the Great
5. Liebfrauenkirche, Trier
The Liebfrauenkirche is part of the medieval UNESCO World Heritage in Trier. And if a church already has the "dear lady", i.e. Maria, in its name
6. Konstantin-Basilika
The Basilika was the throne room of Emperor Constantine. It was built in AD 310
7. Kurfurstliches Palais
The Electoral Palace in Trier right next to the Constantine Basilica is considered one of the most beautiful rococo palaces in the world
8. Kaiserthermen
The Kaiserthermen are the monumental remains of a large-scale planned late antique Roman bath complex and later cavalry barracks
9. Barbarathermen
The thermal baths were built in the 2nd century AD. The complex owes its name to a monastery that no longer exists today
10. Alter Moselkran
The Old Krahnen (old spelling with 'h'), also called Trierer Alter Moselkran, is a port crane in Trier. A stone building from 1413.
11. Frankenturm
The Frankenturm is a fortified residential tower in the city of Trier. It is on Dietrichstraße near the main market in the city centre.
12. Karl-Marx-Haus
The museum and birthplace in Trier is dedicated to Karl Marx and the effects of his ideas from a global perspective to this day.
13. Kornmarkt
The Kornmarkt on Fleischstraße, which was redesigned in 2003, is one of the most beautiful squares in the city alongside the main market.
