The Dexterous Doetinchemmer is a criminal here in town who has been defrauding residents for years. He steals and robs and the police still have a single lead. Residents don't like talking to the police out of embarrassment, maybe you guys will do better. It is up to you to find him.

You can go to the starting point: Mispelplein. Check the email you received from us with further explanation and the login information for the special app. There is no guide. The game automatically takes you to all the beautiful spots in the center of Doetinchem.

About 1,5 - 2 hours and 2,5 km further on, you will not only have seen the most beautiful spots of the city during this city walk in Doetinchem, but you will also have done the local police a favour by finding one of the city's biggest criminals... The Dexterous Doetinchemmer. The trail naturally leads along the 20 most beautiful and surprising places in Doetinchem.

Stadsmuseum Doetinchem is housed in a striking former post office from 1920, designed in the Amsterdam School style, and showcases the city's transformation from early settlement to modern urban center. Visitors can explore detailed models of Doetinchem in 1830 and 1940, view regional art, archaeological finds, a vintage school classroom, and the restored director’s living room in period Jugendstil decor. The museum also features rotating exhibits on local themes, interactive displays (including a children’s museum), and guided tours led by passionate volunteers.
4. The Sint Catharinakerk in Doetinchem is a majestic Gothic-style church originally founded around 1200, rebuilt after devastating fires in 1527, and then again after World War II bombings. Its detached 58-meter tower, reconstructed in the early 1960s, now forms a striking landmark in the city centre. Today the church serves as an active Protestant place of worship and cultural hub, hosting concerts, exhibitions, silent reflection through its city centre quiet room, and community events.

The Driekoningenkapel in Doetinchem, also known as the Gasthuiskapel, is a charming late-Gothic hall chapel dating from around 1460–1500 that originally served a medieval hospital for travelers and the poor. It was later used by the Lutheran congregation for nearly 250 years and severely damaged during a WWII bombing, before being lovingly restored in 1949–50 with its elegant tower and distinctive stained-glass windows by Gerard Lelivelt. Today the Rijksmonumental chapel hosts small concerts, exhibitions, meetings, and even a Ukrainian community hub, retaining its role as a warm and historic gathering place.
