Overview

1. Plaza de las Pasiegas

Know the history of this mythical square and discover the history of the Cathedral of Granada and the Alcaicería. Plaza de las Pasiegas is one of the busiest places in Granada. In this square is the main entrance to the Cathedral of Granada. This cathedral is considered the first church built in the Renaissance style in Spain. It was envisaged under the order of the Catholic Monarchs. Ultimately the project was carried out under the influence of Emperor Charles V. Plaza Pasiegas is the most beautiful place to magnify the beauty of the Cathedral considered an architectural jewel for the city of Granada. The history of this mythical place dates back to the 19th century when young girls who came from the Cantabrian area, a region in the north of Spain, to the Pas region to breastfeed the babies of the Burghers families of Granada. But later, it was a major place for flower markets around 1807.

2. Calle Caldereria Nueva

Stroll through the streets that more closely resemble the souk of the countries of northern Africa. With its tea rooms and souvenir shops.

4. Sacromonte

Stroll through the streets of Sacromonte to immerse yourself in the history and culture of the gypsies. The Sacromonte district is located on the hill of the Paradise Valley (Valparaíso). In the 15th century the hill of Valparaiso received the status of a sacred mountain. Because with the discovery of the remains and the lead books an Abbey was erected on this hill. It is now known as the most artistic district of Granada. It is the birthplace of Zamra, an ideal place to immerse yourself in the tradition of dance and music. It is the district that testifies to the mix of cultures in the city of Granada. Discovering Sacromonte means knowing the past of the Gypsy community in Andalusia. The plaza nueva, the meeting point for all Grenadians, one of the most charming squares in Granada with its Mudejar-style church: the Santa Ana church bears witness to religious tolerance in the Andalusian era, a legendary square with the Alonse Caño fountain and tapas restaurants as far as the eye can see. This square allows you to see the importance of water because in this square the underground river of the river: the Darro crosses. It is the place with more atmosphere and cheerfulness where groups of musicians always meet to sing and dance flamenco under the gaze of spectators. Located at the crossroads of the new town with the street of the Catholic kings, the Gran vía de Colón and the old Moorish quarter of Albaicin.
