Among them, four tunnels have been discovered so far. The 3rd tunnel was discovered in 1978. Among the 4 tunnels, the 3rd tunnel is the largest and the most threatening because it is the closest to Seoul. The distance from here to Seoul is only 52 km and about 30,000 armed North Korean soldiers can pass through this tunnel in about an hour. The total length of this infiltration tunnel is 1,635 meters. And the height and width of the tunnel are about 2m, but they are not constant. From the military demarcation line, it runs 1,200 meters into the north and 435 meters into the south.
