Overview

Experience a full day at the beautiful Friesian island of Texel and its surrounding UNESCO World Heritage site Waddensea! On this family friendly full day island tour we will drive up to the north and take the ferry to Texel to explore its National Parks, historic villages and beaches. The Waddensea is famous for its distinctive difference between high and low tide, the bird migration and its beautiful nature. If the tide and weather provides, we will include a short hiking excursion on the mudflats, the actual bottom of the Waddensea. In one of the historic villages we will stop for lunch (not included). We will pick you up in Amsterdam in the morning and will bring you back late afternoon. A full day of island experience at one of Holland’s most beautiful islands!

We will leave from De Ruijterkade 151, 1011 AC Amsterdam, next to the ALOHA café (at the River Cruises Docks). It’s in the center of Amsterdam, right behind the Central Train Station. Take the IJ exit of the Central Station and turn right. A guide from Dutch Tours will be underneath the live size bowling pin on the bridge at the ALOHA café to welcome you! WE WILL LEAVE AMSTERDAM ON THE EXACT TIME AS SHOWN ON YOUR TICKET. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BE AT THE PICK-UP LOCATION 20 MINUTES BEFORE DEPARTURE! Food and drinks We offer you a complimentary soft drink or bottled water on the way. Please note that lunch is not included but there will be plenty of opportunities on the island. Weather conditions The Wadden Sea is a calm sea with hardly any swell. This means that the tour can take place in almost any weather condition. Please note that on the island of Texel it is always a few degrees colder than in Amsterdam and the wind can be slightly stronger than in the city. Bringing warm clothes, comfortable walking shoes and a raincoat is advised. In case of very severe weather circumstances, we may cancel the tour.
