Itinerary
1. Join us as we reveal the secrets and uniqueness of one of the greatest indoor food markets. Discover why the OREO COOKIE was invented in this building in 1912. Enjoy artisanal foods including; an artisanal NY hot dog from Dickson’s, Sicilian Pizza from Filaga, NY State Cheeses from Saxelby’s, a delicious Italian Crostata from Buon Italia, a Japanese inspired Taco from Takumi Taco, Buttermilk Biscuit and Homemade Jam from Sarabeth’s, Gelato from L’arte Del Gelato, and always something special from Chelsea Market Baskets. (Tastings are subject to change)
2. Learn how Sarabeth's started in one woman's apartment kitchen. Tasting: freshly baked biscuits and small batch jam.
3. Gourmet Italian grocer. Tasting: Hot Zucchini Crostada.
4. Neighborhood butcher shop offering artisanal meats and house-made charcuterie. All meat is sourced from small, family farms in upstate New York that are carefully handpicked for their humanely-raised, high-quality animals. Tasting: Award-winning hot dog, made in house. Seated tasting.
5. Cheese shop that supports sustainable, regenerative agriculture, bolstering rural economies, and the American artisanal cheese-making. Tasting: 5-vault cheddar with sun-dried fig.
6. Showcasing a collection of high-quality gift-worthy items, many of which made right here in New York. Tasting: Leonidas bonbon.
7. Serving Japanese-Mexican fusion. Tasting: Japanese beef curry taco. $7 Drinks available for purchase.
8. Authentic Sicilian pizzeria, characterized by its square shape. Tasting: Buffalina pizza.
9. Learn about the last of the Meatpacking District’s working butchers while learning about the nightlife revolution of this not-to-hot neighborhood.
10. You'll take a guided walk on the HIGH LINE for three blocks, NYC’s elevated outdoor park. You’ll love hearing tales of the High Line trains that once served the butchers below the tracks and local industries, local building architecture and it's fashion scene, the Titanic and see the newly built Little Island.
11. Homemade, all-natural, traditional gelato. Tasting: 1 scoop of gelato.
