3. Ho'okipa Beach Park
Hookipa Beach is considered the windsurfing capital of the world, you can enjoy watching wind surfers, kite boarders and surfers challenge the ocean waves and shoreline winds. This is also the threatened Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle capital of Maui along the shoreline and basking on the beach all day long
Duration: 15 mins
4. Maliko Gulch
A bay on the northern coastline of Maui protected from the tradewinds by steep cliffs, Maliko Gulch is known as the launch point for what is considered the best downwind paddle around.
5. Twin Falls Maui
Twin Falls is the first easily accessible string of waterfalls and pools on the Road to Hana.
6. Haipua'ena Falls
Haipua'ena Falls is a small waterfall and pool along Maui's popular Road to Hana. Thanks to the unsigned trail and short hike over an often muddy path, the pool receives far less visitor traffic than the well-signed falls along the route
7. Ke‘anae Point
The Ke'anae Peninsula is a dramatic half-mile long massive finger of newer lava sticking out from the cliff line of the Hana Highway.
Duration: 20 mins
8. Aunty Sandy's Banana Bread
Experience for yourself the deliciousness of Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread and other roadside treats on your way to Hana. This unique Hawaiian experience even merited the attention of the famed Gordon Ramsey, which has helped even more people to discover this hidden gem.
Duration: 15 mins
9. Ching's Pond
Very photogenic spot to get photographed doing something life threatening.
10. Keanae Lookout
The Keanae Overlook near Mile Marker 17 provides scenic views of Keanae's taro patches and the ocean beyond. The turnoff from the Hana Highway to the Keanae Peninsula is located just beyond the Keanae Arboretum.
11. Upper Waikani Falls
Located just beyond Mile Marker 19 on the mauka—or mountain side—of Hana Highway, Upper Waikani Falls is often referred to as Three Bears.
12. Wailua Falls
The waterfall of all waterfalls. Absolutely stunning, and a popular photo op for Maui marketing brochures!
13. Hana Lava Tube
It's the 18th largest lava tube in the world and the largest by far on Maui. Winding your way through the extensive cave, which reaches heights of up to 40ft
14. Hana Bay
Hana Bay Park is a centrally located county park and beach that serves as a town center for Hana.
15. Wai'anapanapa State Park
Wai’ānapanapa, which means glistening waters, with Pailoa, its famous black sand beach and stunning coastal views.
Duration: 60 mins
16. Pua'a Ka'a State Park
It is a must-see along the Road to Hana. This is the place to stop if you're looking for a typically Hawaiian swimming hole and waterfall to swim under. The water is from a natural spring, unbelievably clean, but very cold.
Duration: 45 mins
17. Wailua Valley State Wayside Park
located just past mile marker #19 on the RIGHT hand side of the road. There are stairs on the right, leading to a vantage point that provides views of Wailua Valley, Keanae Peninsula, distant waterfalls, and the Koolau Gap when facing inland.
Duration: 10 mins
18. Honomanu
A favorite among fishermen, surfers and local families, Honomanu Bay epitomizes seclusion. It rests at the base of Honomanu Valley, a verdant expanse of volcanic wonder—and the second largest valley on Haleakala's northern slopes—with rises that stretch 7,000 feet into the sky.
Duration: 5 mins
19. Kaumahina State Wayside Park
Spanning 7.8 acres and densely forested, it grants visitors up-close-and-personal views of African Tulip Trees and Paperbark, as well as sweeping vistas of Keʻanae Peninsula (and the vast, oh-so-blue ocean).
20. Eucalyptus Rainbow Trees
The unique rainbow tree reveals bright shades of green, blue, purple, orange and maroon, as patches of its bark shed throughout the year.
