Itinerary

1. De Helper is a polder mill on the eastern shore of the Paterswoldsemeer in the municipality of Groningen, in the hamlet of Nijveensterkolk. The mill was built in 1863 south of the city of Groningen for the drainage of the Helpman polder using a screw pump.
2. The Hoornsemeer is a recreational lake south of the city of Groningen. The lake is located about 5 km from the center of the city. The name of the lake is sometimes written together and sometimes separately; both spellings are correct. The lake was created by the suction of the sand layer under a peat layer.
3. Wall House #2 is a building in the city of Groningen that was designed by the American architect John Hejduk.
4. The Paterswoldsemeer is a lake southwest of the Dutch city of Groningen on the border of the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe
5. The Hoornsedijk is a monumental route thanks to the presence of three national monuments: The bridge and the lock from the Hoornsediep to the Paterswoldsemeer. The lock is the only entrance to the lake for ships. The bridge and lock keepers are hired on a temporary basis from Elkez of the municipality of Groningen. The mill "De Helper": This mill was recently restored and still runs regularly under the supervision of voluntary miller Rolf Glazenburg. Hoornsedijk 13: A well-preserved example of a peat farm from the second half of the 19th century.
