Hiking in Ihlara Valley to a classic village lunch, exploring the ancient monastery and underground city with its unique beauty. Itinerary
1. Our first stop will be at the Göreme Panoramic Point, where we have magnificent views over Göreme Valley
2. We will head to the ancient Underground City occupied by many different civilizations throughout its 4000 year history. We will learn about how and why the city was built here and how they managed to live underground.
3. We will visit Selime rock-art Monastery, which is the biggest rock-cut structure in all of Cappadocia. The monastery was the center of religious, social and commercial life.
4. We will take will take a pleasant 3 km hike through Ihlara Valley, a natural green canyon as deep as 100 meters at some points.
5. Our last stop has a beautiful view of Uçhisar Castle across the gardens of Guvercinlik Vadisi (Pigeon Valley). This is great location for scenic photos. Additionally, we will visit the onyx workshop where we can see the region's precious stones in here.
