Overview

No other tour captures the Complete Charleston experience like this one. Snap! takes you where no others go on this 6 hour adventure! Spend the day with me on this small group (limited to 8 people), full day adventure and learn what makes the Charleston Lowcountry so historical, controversial and beautiful, all in the comfort of my 2021 Mercedes Sprinter. I am a city certified tour guide that takes you outside the limits. Stroll down Charlotte Street. Hike to Snap! a picture of the Morris Island Lighthouse. Shag down Folly Beach Pier. Behold the Angel Oak Tree. Contemplate Drayton Hall. Magnolia Plantation and Old St Andrew's Church. Salute Citadel College. Learn of Sullivan's Island notorious past. March around Fort Moultrie. Visit Charleston Lighthouse. See the USS Yorktown. Cruise across Charleston harbor on the Water Taxi. This is an active tour (8000 total steps!) with several walks during the day. We will stop for a quick lunch to-go or bring your own.

Meet on the corner, in front of Liberty Place Hilton. There is a public parking garage at 24 Calhoun Street.

Choose your Drop Off location. Option 1 is to take the Water Taxi back to Charleston from Charleston Harbor Resort. This is not included in the cost of the tour. Guest would pay $14 for a one-way trip. Option 2 is a drop-off to Liberty Hilton (or where you are staying in downtown Charleston)

Itinerary

1. Charlotte Street Park
Stroll this quiet antebellum street of Wragg district, where so much happened, and so little realize it.
Duration: 15 mins
2. Folly Beach Fishing Pier
This pier had it's heyday in the 1940's as one of the first amusement parks in the nation. Newly renovated, you are free to roam to it's end, or shop inside the terrific beach store (including ice cream and hot dogs) or even have a margarita at Pier 101 Beach Bar (if open).

3. Morris Island Lighthouse
Hike to the end of Folly Beach to get an upclose and personal with the 6th oldest lighthouse in the US. This includes a 3/4 mile roundtrip walk to the lighthouse. We do need to traverse a sand dune to get to the beach.

4. Angel Oak Tree
We will visit this 400-500 year old, John's Island live oak.
Duration: 15 mins
5. Drayton Hall
The only and oldest remaining plantation house, in it's original form. While we do not tour inside the house, we will stop for pictures and history lesson.

6. Magnolia Plantation & Gardens
We ride through the grounds with just a brief stop to Snap! a picture of the circa 1870 home.

7. Old St. Andrew's Parish Church
The oldest remaining parish hall south of Virginia, sits among the Spanish moss and graveyard of the Drayton family.

8. The Citadel
This military college dates back to the civil war. Some say, they even started it!

9. Fort Moultrie
Walk along the station street just beyond the fort, to the beach, and get a great big surprise!

10. Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church
This beautiful church was built during the 1830's for the Irish Army Core of Engineers constructing the forts on the island. Travel back in time into this testament of survival.

11. Sullivan's Island Lighthouse
The ugliest lighthouse in America!

12. Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum
Up close view of USS Yorktown & USS Laffey

Another secret and immense view of the Yorktown and the Cooper River.

14. Charleston water taxi
Water cruise option available, self-pay $15. Bon Voyage back to your starting point at the Wharfside Aquarium or Waterfront Park. Or Van will drop you off at Liberty Hilton or anywhere downtown Charleston on peninsula
