Highlights: • Take a comprehensive guided walk through the Plaszow Concentration Camp • Pay tribute at memorials honouring the victims of the Holocaust • Learn about Oskar Schindler and the filming of Schindler’s List • Experience a thoughtfully paced route designed for reflection, not haste Unlike sites dominated by preserved buildings, Plaszow Camp is defined by open space, silence, and absence. Itinerary

1. Ghetto Heroes Square
Formerly known as Plac Zgody, this square served as the administrative and deportation center of the Kraków Ghetto. Today, renamed Ghetto Heroes Square, it stands as a place of remembrance, marking the beginning of the tragic journey for thousands of Jewish residents.
Duration: 15 mins
2. Plaszow Concentration Camp
Plaszow Camp was established by Nazi German occupiers in October 1942 on the grounds of two Jewish cemeteries. Initially a forced-labor camp for Jews from the liquidated Kraków Ghetto, it later expanded to include Polish prisoners and, in January 1944, was reclassified as a concentration camp. It also functioned as a transit camp for Hungarian Jews deported to Auschwitz. More than 35,000 people were imprisoned here, and approximately 6,000 were murdered. Executions took place at several locations within the camp; today, mass graves & memorials silently mark the terrain. During this guided walk, your expert guide reconstructs the camp’s layout using what remains: the Grey House, ruins of the pre-burial hall, traces of the former Jewish cemeteries, the roll-call square, paths once paved with fragments of gravestones. You will pause at key memorials, including the Monument of Torn-Out Hearts, while learning how the camp was divided into living, hospital, administrative, industrial zones.
