2. Holy Cross Cemetery Part 2. You'll venture into the cemetery where we'll tell you a bit about the residents.

9. You'll see the tall wrought iron gate in front of you leading into the Halifax Public Gardens, a designated National Historic Site. Here you will find formal garden maintaining the style of the Victorian age.
10. Design of a Victorian Garden. As you walk through the grounds you’ll notice the formality of design of a Victorian garden. Richard Power, a horticulturist and landscape gardener from Ireland was given the task of designing these public gardens.
11. Horticultural Hall. As you move on you'll see the oldest building in the park, that was also used as a cold cellar, and across from that is the 130 year old Bandstand!
12. While walking along what was once a swampy wasteland, you'll see ducks and geese and even a quiet spot to sit and learn some of the history of the pond.
13. Boar War Memorial Fountain. As you stroll through the park you'll come across this memorial that was erected in 1903 to honour Canadian Soldiers who fought and died in the Boer War.
14. Victoria Jubilee Fountain. We'll tell you the background on this fountain that was erected to celebrate Queen Victoria’s 60th year as monarch.
15. We'll tell you about why the Protestant Camp Hill Cemetery was created on old Commons ground and why you may want to browse through the ancient stones.
16. We'll point out to you what may look like an ordinary modern brick building on the outside, but the contains wonders of extraordinary delight.
17. South Commons. We'll tell you about Canada’s Oldest Urban Park that has been in use by the Halifax community for over 250 years!
18. North Commons. We'll tell you why we have mentioned the Commons several times on this tour and we'll explain just what that means.
19. We'll tell you about the ginormous Halifax Armoury built in 1895 as a drill hall for volunteer militia and what it's being used for today.
20. You'll learn why Citadel Hill, the highest point in Halifax, was chosen as the perfect place for a fort and who it was protecting the people of Halifax from.
21. You'll hear about why, Prince Edward, Commander in Chief of the military commissioned this clock to be built.
22. You'll see why the Grand Parade remains the heart of the city and how it came to be built. We'll also point out to you the Halifax War Memorial Cenotaph.
23. We'll tell you why this building was designated a National Historic site of Canada in 1997 and also tell you a little bit about the beautiful Memorial to Fallen Peace Officers.
24. You'll learn how old this church is and a bit about it's long history and connection to slavery.
25. You'll learn about a Gothic Revival Cathedral and how the effects of the Halifax Explosion in 1917 are still being felt today.
26. We'll tell you how old the cemetery is and some of the history of this tiny hectare of land. Why not take a moment and walk among stones etched with poignant tributes to those who passed centuries ago?
27. You'll hear about when the Americans launched their Revolutionary War against British rule in 1775 and how Britain looked to Halifax as an important naval base.
