1. Phrasumain Fortress
Phra Sumen Fort is a fortress built in the reign of King Rama I. At that time, 14 forts were built to protect the capital. However, as time passed, the forts were no longer necessary and were demolished. Phra Sumen Fort is one of only two forts left, the other being Mahakan Fort.
2. Rama VIII Bridge
The Rama VIII Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge crossing the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand.
3. Thai Parliament
The National Assembly of Thailand, or Parliament, is the legislative branch of the Thai government and is considered one of the three institutions that represent sovereign power in the country.
4. Bang Kruai
The district was created in 1904 and named Bang Yai. Due to its size it was difficult to administer, and thus in 1917 the northern part was split off as minor district (king amphoe), Bang Mae Nang. In 1921 Bang Mae Nang became a full district.
5. Wat Takien Floating Market
Established during the reign of King Barommagot of Ayutthaya and located in Tambon Chalo, this temple was constructed in the distinctive style of a traditional European merchant ship. Many lives had been lost as ships foundered in the nearby river, and local belief dictated that, as a result, a temple should be constructed like a boat to bring back good fortune. Although abandoned for many years, monks finally took up residence in the temple again during King Rama the III or IV's reign.
