Itinerary

1. Tule Tree
The Tule Tree is a natural monument located in Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca, famous for having the widest trunk in the world, with a diameter of more than 14 meters and a circumference exceeding 58 meters. This majestic ahuehuete (Mexican cypress) is approximately 2,000 years old and capable of shading about 500 people at a time. Part of its appeal lies in the natural figures that guides help identify in their bark (such as elephants or crocodiles) and in the Zapotec legend that attributes its plantation to a priest of the god of the wind, Ehécatl.
Duration: 30 mins
2. Teotitlan del Valle
Discover Zapotec art in a family workshop where wool mats are made with natural dyes such as grana cochineal. In addition, you will know the delicate tradition of shell candles, hand-decorated beeswax masterpieces that are symbolic of identity at local festivities.
Duration: 120 mins
3. Hierve el Agua
Admire one of the most impressive landscapes in Mexico: petrified waterfalls formed by calcium carbonate for millennia. You can walk along the trails overlooking the Sierra Madre and soak in the natural pools of warm water located on the edge of the precipice. Access per person: $100.00
Duration: 90 mins
4. El Rey de Matatlan
Learn about the process of "the drinking of the gods" in a traditional pallet. You’ll see everything from cooking agave pineapples in earthen ovens to distilling in copper pots, culminating in a guided tasting of young mezcals, oldies and flavor creams.
Duration: 60 mins
5. Zona Arqueologica de Mitla
Explore the “City of the Dead”, a unique site for its buildings decorated with stone greque mosaics. Unlike other sites, these pieces are assembled with such precision that they did not require mortar, forming geometric patterns representing the Zapotec cosmogony. Foreign access $210.00MXN Mexican access $105.00MXN
Duration: 60 mins
6. San Pablo Villa de Mitla
Enjoy an authentic Oaxacan banquet designed to delight all the senses.
