1. Travel early from Oaxaca to reach Hierve el Agua before most visitors arrive. Note that swimming is optional and the water is cold during early-morning hours. Only community-authorized guides may guide inside the site; your driver will assist with logistics outside restricted areas.
2. After visiting Hierve el Agua, you will stop at a traditional smoke-kitchen, where local families cook with wood-fire and ancestral methods. Travelers may purchase breakfast here, choosing from simple, authentic Oaxacan dishes prepared fresh each morning. This stop offers a cultural experience without rushing and helps support local families in the community. Meals are not included in the tour price.
3. Visit the Zapotec weaving town of Teotitlán del Valle, known for its handmade wool rugs and natural dyes.
