1. Luong Dinh Pavilion
Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion, built in 1818, was a royal riverside pavilion of the Nguyen Dynasty. Emperors rested here before boarding royal barges on the Perfume River. It remains one of Hue's most iconic symbols of imperial heritage and architecture.
2. Perfume River
The Perfume River is Hue's most iconic waterway, flowing through the heart of the former imperial capital. Surrounded by historic landmarks, temples, and gardens, it offers a peaceful setting that reflects the city's rich culture, history, and natural beauty.
3. Da Vien Islet was once a favorite retreat of Emperor Tu Duc. Here, he built a small pavilion where he enjoyed tea, composed poetry, and contemplated nature. Inspired by the tranquil scenery, he wrote one of his most celebrated works, Mountains and Rivers in the Rain, making this islet a cherished symbol of Hue’s literary and imperial heritage.
4. Thien Mu Pagoda
Thien Mu Pagoda is Hue's most iconic religious landmark and one of Vietnam's oldest pagodas. Founded in 1601 on the banks of the Perfume River, the seven-story Phuoc Duyen Tower has become a symbol of Hue.
