Itinerary

1. Chickamauga
As you wander the lantern-lit streets of downtown Chickamauga, you’ll pass historic brick storefronts, railroad crossings, and sites once tied to Civil War encampments and bustling boomtown industry. You’ll hear whispers of old hospitals where epidemics claimed lives, step near buildings tied to 19th-century secrets, and stop outside landmarks where railroad lore and ghostly tales collide. The walk also leads past places tied to Cherokee history, mysterious local legends, and even sightings of cryptids said to stalk the region. Every corner reveals another glimpse into Chickamauga’s haunted heart — without ever knowing where the next story might rise from the shadows.
Duration: 60 mins
2. Crawfish Spring
At Crawfish Spring, the source that gave life to Chickamauga, you’ll hear how this place shaped both Cherokee history and Civil War strategy. Legends of the Moon-Eyed People and other Appalachian mysteries surface here, where folklore blends seamlessly with fact.
Duration: 20 mins
3. Gordon-Lee Mansion
End your walk outside one of Chickamauga’s most iconic landmarks — the Gordon Lee Mansion. Built before the Civil War and used as headquarters and a field hospital during the Battle of Chickamauga, this grand home carries both history and hauntings in its walls. Guests will hear why soldiers, civilians, and spirits alike are still tied to the property, and why it remains one of the town’s most talked-about sites after dark.
