1. Eyemouth
The beautiful coastal town of Eyemouth is steeped in tragedy in its long fishing history, 189 fisherman drowned in a devastating storm in 1881, with a bronze sculpture commemorating the widows and children left behind. Two grey seals are permanent residents to the harbour, which we can feed from the harbour walls.

2. Alnwick Castle
Featured as Hogwarts, Alnwick castle was in 'The Chamber of Secrets' and 'Philosopher's Stone'. Harry's first flying lesson with Madam Hooch was one of the most memorable scenes filmed at Alnwick. Dating back back to 1036, Alnwick Castle is one of the few castles where its owner, the Duke of Northumberland, still resides in. The castle attracts more than 600,000 visitors each year and its gardens are extensive and worth exploring.

4. Bamburgh Castle
This formidable castle has stood guard over the Northumberland coastline for over 1400 years. Once a royal residence, it served as a seat of power for the Northumberland Kings. Bamburgh is the real 'Bebbanburg Castle' from the hit TV-series adaptation of Bernard Cornwell's book 'Last Kingdom'. Many of the battle scenes of season 3 of the show were filmed on the beach below. If you are a fan of the Last Kingdom series, you will be excited to see the exclusive costumes and props display at the castle until November 2026. This includes Uhtred‘s costumes, shield and iconic sword - and don’t miss photo opportunities on The Wessex Throne! This display is included in your admission ticket to Bamburgh Castle.
