1. You will meet your guide at this medieval watchtower, one of Amsterdam's very few remnants of the middle-ages. Here your guide will give an introduction and talk about the origins of Amsterdam.
2. One of the oldest streets of Amsterdam, which also functioned as a dike with locks, protecting the city from flooding.
3. Medieval city gate, that used to be part of a defensive wall and mote system.
4. Former office and warehouse of the Dutch East India Company, founded in 1602. Learn all about the history of the spice trade and the invention of the modern corporation and stock market.
5. Smallest house in Amsterdam, stood next to a gate decorated with the city's famous crest and other symbolic decorations.
6. The old market square and thus the heart of the city. Currently the location of the Royal Palace and national Second World War monument.
7. The famous Ring of Canals District, built for the wealthy merchants of the Golden Age. Here you will see finest canal houses in the northern baroque style and a great variety of houseboats.
