1. Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve
Located on the traditional lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people, the wetlands of Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve is home to water pythons, freshwater turtles and plenty more native wildlife including many bird species. The dam was originally built in 1956 to irrigate seedling rice but the project failed; now Fogg Dam is visited by tourists and locals to observe the diverse wildlife in their natural habitat.

2. Wangi Falls
We then continue to Litchfield’s most popular swimming spot, Wangi Falls. A favourite among locals, the water cascades over the Litchfield escarpment into a plunge pool surrounded by thick monsoonal rainforest. We will have lunch and swim here.

3. Buley Rockhole
After lunch, we make our way to the pools of Buley Rockhole for a relaxing dip among several small, rapid flowing streams. The water ranges from small deep plunge pools to shallow rock pools.

4. Florence Falls
Florence Falls is a spectacular spring-fed, year-round double waterfall set amid the monsoon forest which cascades into a swimming hole. The lookout from the top provides a panoramic view.

5. Magnetic Termite Mounds
We’ll check out the magnetic and cathedral termite mounds before heading back to Darwin where you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation around 6pm.
