1. Welcome to the stunning Sintra Mountains, a breathtaking landscape stretching across the horizons of Portugal. This majestic mountain range, located just a few kilometers from Lisbon, is a natural and cultural treasure that attracts travelers from all over the world. The Sintra Mountains, with their rugged terrain and lush vegetation, offer visitors a truly unique experience. Here, you’ll find a harmonious blend of vibrant nature and the rich history that defines the region. The range is a mosaic of green hills, picturesque valleys, and fascinating rock formations that date back to ancient times.
2. The Sabuga Fountain in Sintra is a natural spring rich in minerals such as calcium and magnesium. It is known for its therapeutic properties, beneficial for the skin, muscles, and respiratory system — which explains the historical popularity of baths and treatments at the site. Steeped in local history and tradition, a visit to the fountain also offers insight into Sintra’s cultural heritage.
3. Welcome to the Moorish Castle, an ancient fortress perched atop the Sintra Mountains. Built during the Moorish occupation, its sturdy walls and towers tell stories of battles and military strategy. From its ramparts, enjoy panoramic views of rolling hills stretching all the way to the sea. Please note that this will be only a brief stop — we will not visit the castle’s interior, and entrance tickets are not included.

Founded in 1862, this traditional bakery is famous for its delicious treats, especially the iconic travesseiros and queijadas. Located in the heart of Sintra, Piriquita attracts both tourists and locals with the irresistible aroma of its freshly baked pastries. The travesseiros, made with crisp puff pastry and filled with a rich egg cream, are a beloved specialty. At this point, your guide will share fascinating stories about its history and symbolism. To ensure the day’s itinerary runs smoothly, please note that only the exterior visit is included. Interior access is not possible on this shared tour. 12. The name “Boca do Inferno” (Hell’s Mouth) was given to this site due to its striking rock formation and the powerful, thunderous impact of the waves crashing against the cliffs — creating a dramatic and awe-inspiring natural spectacle.
