Itinerary
1. The square is renowned for its grandeur and architectural splendor. It features elegant 19th-century buildings with neoclassical façades, including the Opéra Comédie (Opera House).
2. The Saint-Roch Church dates back to the 14th century, with its construction beginning in the late 13th century. It is situated in the historic center of Montpellier.
3. Rue du Bras de Fer has a long history dating back to medieval times. Today, Rue du Bras de Fer is a cultural hub with a mix of artisan shops, boutiques, cafes, and galleries.
4. Saint Peter's Cathedral has a rich history dating back to the 14th century, although its origins trace to an earlier church from the 11th century.
5. The Palais de Justice dates back to the late 19th century when it was constructed between 1856 and 1865. It was designed by architect Jean Giral in the Second Empire style, which was characterized by grandeur and classical elements.
6. The Arc de Triomphe in Montpellier was built in the late 17th century. It was commissioned by King Louis XIV to commemorate the conquest of the city of Franche-Comté.
7. The Promenade du Peyrou was created in the late 17th century during the reign of King Louis XIV. It was designed as a grand promenade and a symbol of royal power and prestige, overlooking the city of Montpellier.
