Overview

The English Lake District is one of the most recent additions to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Admire the rolling countryside and craggy fells whilst listen to your guide about the Lake District's history, geology and the people that have shaped this much-loved region. Along the way, you will pass some of the region’s most spectacular sights, such as the Borrowdale Valley, Buttermere, Honister pass, and Grasmere. There are many stops on route; a highlight is the Castlerigg Stone Circle with its panoramic views. Our friendly driver/guide will provide an on-board commentary on this full day spectacular tour of lakes and mountains.

Thank you for booking a Mountain Goat tour. Please make a note of your chosen pickup point and pick up time, our driver will meet you there on your chosen day of travel. This is identified above in this confirmation. Please arrive at the location selected in good time, if you are not, you may miss the tour.

1. Start the tour and meet all passengers at the main pickup point.
2. Enjoy the scenery of Lake Derwent
3. Stop in the charming town of Keswick and explore.
Duration: 60 mins
4. Enjoy the scenery of the valley
5. Stop at Honister where you will be treated to some of the most beautiful views in the Lake District.
Duration: 10 mins
6. Pass by the man made reservoir nestled in the shadow of Helvellyn.
7. Stop in the charming village of Grasmere for time to visit St Oswald's Church and the resting place of Wordsworth.
Duration: 15 mins
8. Visit the ancient stone circle of Castlerigg, thought to be 4,000 years old.
Duration: 15 mins
9. Buttermere is well known to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the national park.

Please note, the tour starts from Windermere Information Centre @ 9.25am. It is not possible to be collected from a different location once chosen. If you are not at the correct pick up location and miss the tour, we cannot offer alternative arrangements.

Due to a landslide, Kirkstone pass is currently unpassable. Therefore until further notice you will not visit Brotherswater or Ullswater on your tour. Our incredible driver guides will instead take you off the beaten track to a few other fabulous Lake District sites and lakes.

Due to the nature of the out tours, we cannot wait for customers who arrive at their tour start point late. If you are late for your tour, our cancellation policy applies. 100% charges are applicable and you will not be entitled to a refund or alternative.
