1. City Hall of Maastricht
The striking historic town hall of Maastricht dates from the mid-17th century. We pause for a moment to consider this building, which can be seen as a symbol of the so-called duality that lasted from 1204 to 1794.

2. Kesselskade
We pass the place where the Augustinian fathers built their first real church at the beginning of the 16th century. The construction was largely financed with the proceeds of a pot of gold from Roman times, which they had excavated. This is considered the first recorded archaeological find in Maastricht.
