Overview
See medieval Prague through the eyes of a 17th-century Nightwatchman. Armed with lantern and halberd, he walks you through dark streets, explaining daily life as he knew it — plainly, humorously, and without academic lectures. This is true history, sometimes funny, sometimes bloody, always based on real events — no legends or ghost stories. The tour is led by a trained Nightwatchman who represents Prague in the European Nightwatchman Guild, a historical guild preserving authentic Nightwatchman traditions. Starting at the Powder Gate, the Nightwatchman leads you through the Old Town as it once was: a city shaped by class differences, strict laws, public punishments, wars, fires, and plague. Expect witty observations, blunt opinions, and uncomfortable truths. This tour is for curious travelers who want real history told in an unusual, human way, not a list of dates and names — and who don’t mind that history was sometimes harsh, unfair, and violent.
