Wines from the Oliver & Osoyoos area include the Golden Mile and Black Sage Bench. The wines are distinct and recognized as B.C.'s first wine sub-region due to the unique climate, soil types, and wine styles. The wines are imbued with unique flavours, tastes, aromas, and minerality found nowhere else. Hot summer sun and dry, arid climate create ideal conditions for late-ripening premium red grapes to thrive! Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah.

Itinerary

1. Enjoy a seated tasting of four (4) wines on an outdoor patio overlooking vineyards and the sweeping panorama of the South Okanagan valley.

2. Our guide will accompany you to the Wineshop and arrange for your tasting. Enroute and prior to arriving at the winery our guide will provide some background and details about the winery.

3. A guided seated tasting at your own table of a selection of exclusive wines. For a complete wine country tasting experience, add the Chef’s selection of seasonal food pairings, each matched perfectly to your flight of wines (added cost).

4. Maverick has a rebellious spirit. It shuns today’s highly mechanized, high-production trends. Instead, they stay true to a by-hand, Old World approach to winemaking. They believe that working in tune with nature is the only way to capture the clean, rich, multi-layered flavours of premium fruit. Maverick makes iconoclastic, award-winning wines full of flavour and complexity.

5. Black Hills Estate Winery vineyards are located on the famed Black Sage Road that result in an exceptional terroir. The microclimate is one of hottest, driest and sunniest sites in the Canada. In fact, the vineyards have more sunlight hours than Napa Valley in the key growing months of June through August. The vineyards' west-facing slope and deep desert sands provide daytime heat that fully ripens the grapes followed by cool nights that allow acid retention. The result? Intensely flavourful grapes! Black Hills careful viticulture practices, provide ideal growing conditions for the Bordeaux and Rhone varietals.
