Overview

Walk through Old Cairo where the Hanging Church has stood since the third century, climb to the Citadel of Saladin for sweeping views over Islamic Cairo, see the gold mask of Tutankhamun at the Grand Egyptian Museum, and end your day on a traditional felucca sailboat drifting down the Nile. This is the cultural Cairo tour, not the Pyramids tour. For travelers who want religious heritage, Islamic architecture, and the modern home of Egypt's greatest treasures, without spending the day on a desert plateau. Your licensed Egyptologist explains the layered history of each site, from Coptic Christianity to Mamluk military architecture to the pharaohs of the New Kingdom. Hotel pickup and drop-off in Cairo. Felucca ride included.
