Itinerary
1. Your driver will meet you at your Chengdu city hotel, assist with luggage, and smoothly transfer you to the railway station, ensuring you have ample time for check-in. Then, you’ll board the high-speed train for Xi’an at your leisure. Upon arriving in Xi’an, your guide will be waiting at the exit with a sign bearing your name. Throughout the day, the guide will stay by your side, providing in-depth historical explanations and being ready to answer any questions you may have about the sites, history, or culture.
2. First, you’ll head to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Included in your ticket is access to the three main pits and the Exhibition Hall. As you enter Pit 1, the largest and most impressive, your guide will point out the 6,000-plus life-sized warriors, each with unique facial features, and explain how they were crafted over 2,200 years ago to guard Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. Feel free to ask about the craftsmanship techniques, the significance of different warrior ranks, or any other details that pique your curiosity. In Pit 2, they’ll detail the mix of chariots, cavalry, and infantry, revealing the military tactics of the Qin Dynasty—don’t hesitate to dig deeper into battle strategies or the role of each unit. Pit 3, believed to be the command center, and the Exhibition Hall with the gilded bronze chariots will also be covered, with stories of their discovery in 1974 by local farmers; your guide can elaborate on the excavation process or the preservation efforts
3. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Xi’an Ancient City Wall, a 13.7-kilometer-long structure dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Your guide will lead you to the South Gate (Yongning Gate), the most well-preserved entrance, and share facts about its construction—12 meters high, 15-18 meters wide at the base—while pointing out the crenels, watchtowers, and moat. Whether you wonder about the wall’s defensive functions, the history of renovations, or the daily life of guards in ancient times, the guide will provide detailed answers. You can choose to walk a section or rent a bike(at your own cost) to cycle along the top, with the guide highlighting landmarks like the Bell Tower and Drum Tower in the distance as you go, and addressing any questions that arise along the way. At the tour’s end, you can opt to stay in Xi’an or take the high-speed train back to Chengdu. For returnees, a driver will greet you at Chengdu railway station and take you back to your hotel.
