Itinerary
1. At 8:30 am, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby in Chongqing. You will start the city tour by private vehicle with your guide. Begin at the stately People's Great Hall, an architectural masterpiece set against the leafy People's Square.
2. Then embark on Chongqing's most thrilling urban experience, riding the mountain-climbing Light Rail Line 2 from Zengjiyan Station, holding your breath as the train dramatically plunges straight through the residential high-rise at Liziba Station, where dedicated viewing platforms offer perfect photo ops of this engineering marvel.
3. Head to Ciqikou Ancient Town, which is a well-known port since ancient time. There are cobbled streets wind past Ming-Qing era teahouses and workshops still making traditional porcelain. The air hangs heavy with the aroma of freshly ground chili and sizzling street snacks.
4. Then ascend to the clouds at the Eye of the Cloud observation deck, where Chongqing's entire urban jungle unfolds beneath your feet, with the serpentine rivers carving through the city's dramatic topography. Dive into the pulsing heart of the city at Jiefangbei CBD, where the Liberation Monument stands sentinel over luxury boutiques and neon-lit shopping arcades.
